Editor, News-Register: President Biden has proposed forgiving student loans. What about the ones who worked and sacrificed to pay theirs back? Will they get money refunded and how about future borrowers, will they get free money? Come on, quit playing favorites in order to get a few votes. Also , what a mess on the border. Editor, News-Register: Parents, please be aware! Wheeling City Council had the first reading of a city ordinance to restrict parent’s right to direct their own child’s counseling for gender identity! I attended the Tuesday (April 19) meeting where four people, including me, spoke on an Amendment to City Ordinance 169 that gives the Human Rights Commission more authority in our city. Editor, News-Register: The United Mine Workers of America recently held a memorial service at the Willow Grove Mine site in Neffs, Ohio, to honor 72 miners who lost their lives in an explosion on March 16, 1940. On behalf of the UMWA I would like to extend my sincerest appreciation to all who supported us in making the event possible.
