Editor, News-Register: Sadly, last week’s media revealed this country has reached that point. How much longer can this malarkey go on? There’s the constant failing memory, talking to dead people and clearly defined elder abuse. For this unique country to survive, it is well past time to invoke the 25th Amendment. Explain Fire HQ Relocation

Editor, News-Register: I think the public needs to know why the Wheeling Fire Department is being forced to move from its current headquarters to multiple locations for the company demolishing the OVMC complex. There are at least four buildings on the east side of Eoff Street that could be demolished before moving on to the west building. That would provide time for the new facility to be completed. Editor, News-Register: Who should be making decisions about how to use land in West Virginia? Obviously, our Republican legislature does not want the federal government to be making these decisions. But, current proposed legislation in the West Virginia Senate and House of Delegates suggests they do not want local governments and land owners having their say, either.
