Crossleys Reach 50th

Charles "Sonny" Crossley and Bessie McMillan Crossley will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Nov. 27.They were united in marriage at Wellsburg Methodist Church on Nov. 27, 1964.Sonny Crossley retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, and Bessie Crossley retired from Weirton Steel.They are the parents of Douglas Crossley, deceased; Leslie (David) Clark of Morgantown; and Amy (Rando) Parna of Newport, Ky. They have two grandchildren.They celebrated their 50 years together with a family vacation to the island of Aruba in June and a family dinner this month in Pittsburgh.

Scotts Celebrated 56th

Arrond and Margaret Scott of Shadyside will celebrate their 56th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Nov. 29.They were united in marriage Nov. 29, 1958 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, by Msgr. Kloss.Margie Scott is the daughter of the late Foster and Marge Johnson of Bridgeport. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at Bauknecht Altmeyer Funeral Home in Shadyside for 12 1/2 years.Arrond Scott is the son of the late Robert and Mary Scott of Bridgeport. He retired from Ormet Aluminum with 41 years of service.They are active members of St. John's Catholic Church, Bellaire. ...

Couple Marks 74 Years

Raymond F. "Huggy Bear" and Maize Leota Huggins of Moundsville marked their 74th wedding anniversary on Oct. 10.They were married in Wetzel County on Oct. 10, 1940.Raymond Huggins served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired from Fostoria Glass and then worked as a guard at West Virginia Penitentiary. He is an avid sports fan, especially football at John Marshall High School and West Virginia University and the Cleveland Indians.The couple has two sons, Roger (Kathy) and Jimmy, deceased, and daughter-in-law, Chris. They have nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Shooks Mark 50 Years

Wayne and Judy Shook of Cameron will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, Nov. 28.They were united in marriage on Nov. 28, 1964 at Limestone Presbyterian Church.Wayne Shook is the son of the late Bob and Gayel Shook.He is retired from Consol Energy- Shoemaker Mine.Judy Shook is the daughter of the late Lloyd and Imogene Logsdon. Sheis a homemaker.The couple has two children. Steven (Kelly) Shook and Lisa (Doug) Pegg, all of Cameron. They have four grandchildren.A family dinner will be held in their honor to celebrate the occasion.

Resczynski Reaches 90th

Blanche Resczynski of Benwood celebrated her 90th birthday on Saturday, Nov. 15.She was born Nov. 15, 1924, daughter of the late John and Josephine Latka of Benwood. She was married to the late Chester Resczynski for 54 years.She is a lifelong resident of Benwood and has served as a volunteer with the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. She attended St. Ladislaus Catholic Church until its closing and now attends St. Alphonsus in Wheeling.Resczynski has three children. George and Nancy Stewart of McMechen will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Nov. 20.They were married on Nov. 20, 1964 at the First Church of God in McMechen, where they are still active members.George Stewart is retired from Olin Chemical and is the former fire chief for the city of McMechen.Nancy Stewart is retired from Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, where they both have enjoyed volunteering for the past eight years.They are the parents of two sons, David Hildebrand of McMechen and Pittsburgh, and John, deceased.A family dinner will be held to celebrate the ...
