Shawn Chrisagis, a well-known local minister and performer, died Tuesday at age 55.

Brian Chrisagis announced the death of his twin brother, Shawn, Tuesday afternoon on the Chrisagis Brothers Productions Facebook page.

Brian Chrisagis later posted on his personal Facebook page that his brother died of a massive heart attack at his home in Yorkville.

"Let my brother's memory be a good one. He changed Hollywood for Christ and gave quality programs. He ministered all over the country with music videos that appeared on MTV. ... He had created a children's show with me and my older brother called The Good news Network. ... Shawn was without a doubt a force to be reckoned with. He created a Legends event that was yearly with CCM artists and he was the mastermind of every project we ever did. He also was a talented artist. He fulfilled so many dreams with me that I feel very empty without him," Brian posted on Facebook.

"Shawn Chrisagis was a true man of God. His steadfast focus was always to minister to the hurting and to see souls saved. He was intelligent, creative, loyal and one of the most genuine souls I have ever met. ... I know beyond a shadow of a doubt when Shawn closed his eyes here on Earth he opened them to see the loving arms of Jesus welcoming him home. Well done, good and faithful servant," Lynda Sullivan, office manager for the Chrisagis Brothers, posted on Facebook.

"The Honkytonk Sweethearts express our sincere sympathy to the family of Shawn Chrisagis. Shawn Chrisagis along with Brian Chrisagis have been supportive of us from the beginning. Much love to Brian, Anthony and Lynda as they navigate through this difficult time," the Honkytonk Sweethearts, a country music group that has performed with the Chrisagis Brothers, posted on its Facebook page.

Along with being a minister and musician, Shawn Chrisagis also served customers at The Fat Apple Bakery in Bridgeport.

"We will miss Shawn immensely. He brought love, humor and compassion to everyone that was fortunate enough to cross his path," said Don Rhodes, owner of The Fat Apple Bakery.

"Sincere thanks for the great outpouring of love and prayers. They mean a lot," Sullivan posted on Facebook.

Sullivan said that people who wish to send cards or gifts to Brian Chrisagis can send them to P.O. Box 46, Glen Dale, WV 26038.

Shawn Chrisagis had released 10 music CDs with his brother and had a radio show and a children's television series.

The Chrisagis Brothers held their last Legends concert on May 6 at Buckeye Local High School.

Before Shawn passed away, the Chrisagis Brothers had planned to hold a "Christmas with the Stars" concert on Nov. 11 at the Capitol Theater in Wheeling featuring Erik Estrada, Loni Anderson, Kevin Sorbo, Stefanie Powers, Lorenzo Lamas, Karen Grace Cadle and Max Winfrey.
