From STAFF REPORTS

Five people were injured, including four flown out for medical care, after a two-vehicle head-on crash on Fork Ridge Road in Marshall County on Monday afternoon.

Marshall County Sheriff Bill Helms said the crash between a truck and a car occurred around 4:30 p.m. Monday about 5½ miles out Fork Ridge Road. There was one occupant in the truck and five in the car. Four were flown from the crash site for medical care, while one was driven by EMS.

That section of Fork Ridge near the Williams Energy Oak Grove Plant was closed for several hours. Helms said sheriff's deputies were reconstructing the crash site Monday night. He added one of the vehicles had a dashcam and the Sheriff's Office was trying to get a search warrant to look at the footage from that camera.

Helms said neither drugs nor alcohol were believed to be factors in the crash.
