Wheeling Central Rolls Past Madonna Softball

NEW MANCHESTER — Sometimes, a team just seems to have a rival’s number. For the Madonna softball team, it certainly seems like Wheeling Central has theirs. The Maroon Knights defeated the Blue Dons for a second-straight meeting Thursday afternoon on the turf at the Oak Glen Field of Dreams Complex, 13-5. Wheeling Central also topped Madonna 6-0 last week in Wheeling. The two losses to the Knights are the first two of the season for Madonna after a 12-0 start to the season. Madonna was charged with four errors in the game and the Maroon Knights (11-7) drew six walks ...

WVU WR Jaden Bray Looking Forward To Getting Back On The Field

MORGANTOWN — There wasn’t a lot of good that came out of West Virginia’s trip to Ohio to play the Bobcats in 2025 for the second game of the season. WVU was upset by the Group of Five school, but even worse, the Mountaineers lost two of their premier offensive weapons. Running back Jahiem White went down and was carted off. Shortly after, wide receiver Jaden Bray suffered the same fate. It was obviously bad for White to go down with a season-ending injury, but it felt just a tad bit worse for Bray because in 2024, Bray was in the same situation. He played a couple of games, ...

Johnson, 23, has enjoyed a spectacular rookie season, as he has amassed 12 goals, 43 assists, and 55 points in 70 games. His 55 points are the most among ECHL rookie defensemen and the third most among ECHL defensemen overall. Brent's season has also put him near the top of the Wheeling record books, as his 43 assists and 55 points are both the fifth highest totals by a defenseman (second highest by ...

Schoenfeld, Kelly Power WVU Baseball

For The Intelligencer MORGANTOWN — Paul Schoenfeld provided the power and Gavin Kelly provided the sacrifice fly, but it was WVU’s pitching that handed the 15th-ranked Mountaineers a 3-1 victory against struggling Penn State on Wednesday inside Meritus Park in Hagerstown, Md. Aside from a solo home run given up in the second inning, four WVU pitchers combined to allow just three hits and no runs otherwise with only one Penn State base runner reaching third base the rest of the game. It all spelled out another midweek win for WVU (25-8), which improved to 6-0 in midweek games ...
