West Virginia Opens Big 12 Tournament vs. Oklahoma State

The West Virginia men's basketball team has be locked in as the No. 4 seed for the Big 12 tournament.

The Mountaineers finished the regular season with a record of 18-8 over all and 11-6 in conference.

After falling to Oklahoma State to cap off the regular season, the two teams will meet again in the quarterfinals on March 11 with a tipoff time of 11:30 a.m. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN or ESPN2.

The Mountaineers and Cowboys spilt during the regular season as WVU took the first matchup on Jan. 4, 87-84 while Oklahoma State got the upperhand in the regular season finale on March 6, 85-80.

Avery Anderson III led the Cowboys with 31 points against WVU in their most recent matchup going 11 of 14 from the field.

Taz Sherman was West Virginia's leading scorer as he netted 20 points.

The Big 12 Tournament will start on Wednesday with No. 8 seed TCU and No. 9 Kansas State tipping off in the first game while No. 7 Oklahoma and No. 10 Iowa State will follow.

Top-seeded Baylor awaits the winner of the TCU-Kansas State matchup while No. 2 seeded Kansas get the victor of Oklahoma-Iowa State.

No. 3 Texas and No. 6 Texas Tech are slated to play in the quarterfinals.

The semifinals are scheduled for Friday and the championship game is slated for Saturday with a tipoff time of 6 p.m. on March 13.
