CAMPING WORLD BOWL NOTES

AP Photo Syracuse coach Dino Babers has led a remarkable turnaround this season, leading the Orange to a Top 25 ranking and into the Camping World Bowl.

∫ The game will be televised nationally on ESPN with Dave Fleming providing the play-by-play, Rod Gilimore the analysis and Quint Kessenrich roaming the sidelines.

∫ WVU is 4-9 in bowl games against the current team configuration of the ACC.

∫ The Camping World Bowl marks the second time WVU has faced Syracuse in a bowl game, but the first time with the Orange as a member of the ACC.

∫ WVU is 150-175-6 all-time against current members of the ACC. It is 2-5 under current head coach Dana Holgorsen.

∫ The Camping World Bowl marks a record-setting fifth time that WVU has played in a bowl game associated with the Florida Citrus Sports Commission.

∫ This will West Virginia's 13th bowl game in the state of Florida, with the Mountaineers holding a 2-10 record in the Sunshine State. WVU is 1-1 under Holgorsen in Florida.

∫ Friday's 5:15 kickoff will mark the 61st meeting between WVU and Syracuse. The series, which dates back to 1945, sees the Orange holding a narrow 33-27 advantage.

∫ Redshirt sophomore quarterback Jack Allison will be the 18th Mountaineers to earn their first career start during the 2018 season joining Chase Behrndt (RG), Charlie Benton (LB), Kenny Bigelow (DL), Shea Campbell (LB), Joe Brown (RG), Isaiah Hardy (RG), Dominique Maiden (WR), Josh Norwood (CB), Martell Pettaway (RB), Derek Pitts Jr. (S), Jabril Robinson (DL), Zach Sandwisch (LB), Marcus Simms (WR), T.J. Simmons (WR), Alec Sinkfield (RB), Keith Washington Jr. (CB) and Trevon Wesco (TE).
