The 39th Annual Bill Welker OVAC Wrestlers of the Year are University's Jason Walker and Steubenville's Cooper Smith. The OVAC named the award after Bill Welker, past Mat Talk Columnist for the Wheeling News-Register from 1978 until 2010, He was selected as the Synder-Miller West Virginia Wrestling Sportswriter of the year an unprecedented seven times and the National Wrestling Sportswriter of the Year two times by Wrestling USA Magazine.
