The annual Christmas Parade will take place today (Saturday) in Cameron. The line-up for the parade will begin at the former high school parking lot. The parade will start at 1 p.m. The theme this year, which was submitted by the school's pre-k class, is "Grinchmas Christ-mas," with prizes for best float.

The City of Moundsville will sponsor a Christmas Holiday House Decorating Contest with the final entry to be at 4 p.m. Dec. 8. To register call the City Clerk's Office at 304-845-3394. House judging will take place on Dec. 9 starting at 5 p.m. Prizes of $100, $50, and $25 will be awarded.

The Marshall County Association of Retired School Employees will hold a meeting at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 14 in the Social Hall at St. John's Church in Benwood. David Scherrick will direct the John Marshall High School singers for the Christmas Program. Meal reservations are due to Lexi Hankett by Dec. 7.

The John Marshall High School Music Department invites the public to celebrate the holiday season at a combined Christmas Concert at 6 p.m. Dec. 7th in the JHMS Center for Preforming Arts. The sixth annual Monarch Tidings is a student produced, one day event that will feature selections from a combination of ensembles including: Concert Band, Steel Band, Concert Choir, Monarch Choir, Chamber Orchestra, String Orchestra, and Symphony Orchestra. Ella Kennen and Morgan Carlin will serve as hosts of the show.
Festive tunes such as "Dashing Through the Show" and Donde Esta Santa Claus, along with well-known favorites "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" "Grown Up Christmas Lists's" and the "Chipmunk Song" will deck the halls of the Center for Performing Arts with holiday cheer.
WJMH Media will record the concert and the production will be shown in its entirety on the WJMH Media YouTube page beginning Tuesday, Dec 12.
Monarch Tidings can also be viewed on Christmas Eve from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. on WTRF-TV, and again on Christmas morning from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. on WTRF's ABC Ohio Valley, WLU-TV, West Liberty University's TV Station on Xfinity Channel 14.
Topperstation.com also will air the show around Christmastime.
The holiday concert, sponsored by the Karl and Mildred Niekamp Charitable Foundation is open to the public and an admission fee of $10 for adults and $5 for students in grades K-12 will be charged. Anyone showing their personalized Marshall County Schools Activity pass will get free admission.

Four people were approved as either advisors/coaches by the Marshall County Board of Education at this this past Tuesday's board meeting.
They are: Susan Sadoski as Adviser of the Class of 2027 at John Marshall High School; Elaina DePetro, as Assistant Drama Adviser at JHMS; Devin Overholt, as Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at JHMS; and Robert Triveri II a Robotics Coach at Moundsville Middle School.
Other personnel matters included: Kayla Scott from Cook II (half-time long-term temporary) to Cook II (half-time at McNinch Primary; Thomas Dunlap from Substitute Maintenance to Custodian, County Office/Garage; Nicole McCulley from Aide/Autism Mentor/ECCAT at Center McMechen to Library Media Aide at Center McMechen/Glen Dale; and Sarah Ward from ECCAT, Center McMechen Ele-mentary to ECCAT Cameron Elementary.
Todd Morris' resignation as Archery Advisor at Cameron Middle School/High School also was approved.
