Editor, News-Register: I’m not a Catholic but my son-in-law is. My daughter is not, but they chose to raise their three children as Catholics. They were appalled, as I was, when I told them what has been in the paper about Michael Bransfield. Never once have I read that he ever asked God and the people he hurt for forgiveness. Editor, News-Register: The Sunday News-Register on Oct. 4 printed a commentary by Charles Rogerson, an English professor at West Virginia Northern Community College. Rogerson refers to President Trump as “the champion of white supremacy,” further stating that Trump plays golf, a mostly “white” sport. So, that must mean that black people who prefer basketball over golf are racist, right? People Have Spoken

Editor, News-Register: The American people have spoken clearly. We’ll have a better president in January. The electoral college victory is clear, and the popular vote margin is in the millions. I have no great love for Joe Biden. He is a normal politician with the normal issues. We will not cure COVID or cancer overnight, nor end war for all eternity. I hope he gets many moderate and sensible things done. I am glad we will have a president who supports democracy, who isn’t drunk on conspiracy. It brought tears of both sadness and anger at the echoing complaint by these “saints” who are trying to take care of us.
