For 95 years, Wheeling has had the good fortune of having its very own Symphony Orchestra. The recent program, "Bravo Broadway," was an absolutely captivating performance and, for those unable to attend, they missed an incredible evening.
The talent of the three vocalists combined with the energy and enthusiasm of the orchestra was inspiring and did indeed have the audience rising "to their feet shouting bravo" and applauding the outstanding concert.
The Wheeling Symphony's live music always offers a completely different experience than a recorded or even a livestreamed event, but this performance was really special. The performers -- Hugh Panaro, Morgan James and Christiane Noll -- as well as the orchestra and Conductor John Devlin had a spontaneous energy that was palpable and the audience connected with them which made for an extremely engaging production. The show included Broadway hits from years gone by such as My Fair Lady and Hello Dolly, as well as more recent popular musicals such as Frozen, Wicked and Phantom of the Opera -- each one performed with dynamic enthusiasm that was truly engaging.
So, BRAVO to the Wheeling Symphony for another wonderful concert!
Thank you for providing this unique and uplifting experience of real time live music.
