I attended this year's Follansbee Community Days Festival as I have for most, if not all, of the 30 years it's been in existence. I was saddened to hear that this year would be the last one. Since I've always been a fan of live music, I took advantage of seeing the many top-notch groups that came to provide entertainment each year. I was never disappointed.
I don't know the reasons behind the decision to discontinue this long-running event, but I'm sure it took an enormous amount of planning, financial backing and many behind-the-scene workers to make it the success that it was.
To all those who made it happen each year, I just wanted to express my gratitude. I very much enjoyed it and shall miss it. Thank you, Follansbee.
