Wheeling now has a new, beautiful statue honoring West Virginia's first governor, Arthur Boreman.
On the north lawn of West Virginia Independence Hall, this monument by noted Morgantown sculptor Jamie Lester (statues of Jerry West and Don Knotts are among his works) marks his first major work in the Northern Panhandle.
This project could not have occurred without the tremendous support of the state, the city, many foundations and wonderful individuals, as well as the Community Foundation of the Ohio Valley, Wheeling Heritage, Boswell Monuments and Savage Construction.
We are blessed to live in a valley that has so many generous, talented groups.
Gratefully,
