The Trump Personality Cult

Former President Donald J. Trump has been indicted for "conspiring to overturn the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election," which was filed in Washington, D.C., by Jack Smith, special counsel for the U.S. Department of Justice, that charged Mr. Trump with four felony counts in an effort to overturn the aforementioned election in which Mr. Trump lost in his bid for re-election to current President Joe Biden, which was described by Mr. Smith as an "unprecedented assault on American democracy," which was "fueled by lies," leading to the violent insurrection of our nation's capitol on January 6, 2021.

As a result, Mr. Trump has now been charged with 91 total counts in four criminal indictments thus far.

A number of the charges against the former president include his attempts to intimidate election officials in key battleground states, creating a slate of false electors in swing states as well as his attempt to block elections in swing states as well as his attempt to block the official presidential certification of Joe Biden by Trump's then Vice President Mike Pence.

Trump and his minions, sadly, have placed our democratic form of government and our constitution in jeopardy, the likes of which not experienced since the American Civil War, essentially for political purposes in order to placate the massive ego of Mr. Trump, which obviously prevents him from graciously admitting defeat for the good of the country.

Mr. Trump, sadly, prefers to project himself more like an autocrat than as a true servant of the American people, overtly engaging in fawning relationship with many of the world's most heinous dictators, most of whom have very adversarial relationship with our nation, while criticizing, mercilessly democratic leaders of the free world, many of whom serve as our long-time allies.

If Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, continues to be charged for possible improprieties with foreign governments, why not investigate the Trump family for their multitude of deals struck with foreign countries during the Trump presidency, in particular the $2 billion deal with U.S. adversary Saudi Arabia, by Trump son in law Jared Kushner? Is it now quite obvious that the once proud Republican party, that at one time were strong advocates for the rule of law, and for individuals accepting the responsibility for their own words and actions, have devolved into what can be best described as the Trump Personality Cult? Sad!
