It has been reported that former President Donald J. Trump's recent myriad of serious memory lapses, his now even more incoherent and seemingly unhinged verbal rants as well as his apparent uncontrollable behavior, both in and out of the courtroom, has led many professionals to conclude that Mr. Trump, quite possibly, appears to be exhibiting very troubling behavior, and that he may currently be experiencing the early stages of dementia -- the dreaded disease that his father Fred Trump had contracted prior to his death in 1999.
Mr. Trump's most concerning reported memory lapses include his stating that he felt that President Biden was going to lead us into World War II (which we are all aware had ended in 1945); his reference to his defeat of Barack Obama in the 2016 U.S. presidential election (in which in reality he had actually defeated Hillary Clinton); his ordering his supporters at a campaign rally "not to vote;" repeatedly confusing the names of U.S. and world leaders; as well as numerous such other most troubling examples.
All of this while Mr. Trump continues to criticize his chief political adversary, President Joe Biden, for his perceived acumen issues, referring to him disrespectfully as "Sleepy Joe."
It will be quite interesting indeed to learn how others in the government, the media as well as the voters take such an into account when considering the competency of those two most prominent US presidential candidates for the 2024 election.
In addition, Mr. Trump has made it abundantly clear that his desire to return to the White House is most assuredly primarily ego- and revenge-driven. That if he is to return to public office, as evidenced by his reported rhetoric of fascist dictators such as Adolf Hitler of Germany and Benito Mussolini of Italy, of his intentions to replace dedicated public servants with staunch political allies in industries such as the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigations, as well as others in order to persecute his political rivals.
Obviously, this individual has total disregard and disrespect for the rule of law, the U.S. Constitution and the democratic form of government that has long served as the centerpiece and bulwark of our great nation, and must survive in spite of the aforementioned serious internal threats that must be taken seriously and repelled.
