Charlotte June Jacovetty, better known as Aunt Charlotte, 88, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully at home on December 9, 2025. She was born May 23, 1937, daughter of the late Charles Jacovetty and Mildred (Radulovich) Jacovetty Lucey.
A woman of strong Catholic faith, Charlotte was a devoted member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She retired from C&P Telephone Co. after many years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Upper Ohio Valley Italian Heritage Society, various women's clubs in the Ohio Valley, and the Sisters of St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her sister Ruth "Teeny" Hugus, brother-in-law Eugene "Pud" Hugus, brother Charles "Buddy" Jacovetty, sister-in-law Patty Jacovetty, niece Charlene Hugus, niece Charla Jacovetty, and great-niece Jennifer Jacovetty.
Known for her gentle heart and generous spirit, Charlotte was an animal lover and shared a special bond with her beloved 19-year-old cat, Baby. She also enjoyed traveling, especially wintering in Florida and taking cruises. She treasured time spent with family and friends and will be remembered for her kindness, warmth, and enduring faith.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews: Darlene Hugus, Charlotte "Charshy" Bryan, Dean (Tammy) Jacovetty, Gloria (Dino) Visnick, Lisa (James) Blazier, Sammy (Pam) Jacovetty, and Tricia (Andy) Garcia; along with many great, great-great nieces and nephews, and friends.
Family and friends will be received Monday, December 22, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 2111 Market St., Wheeling, WV, with Mass at 11:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church at www.TMCFunding.com or a local animal shelter.
