Ben Podolski, last year's recipient of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra's Music Educator Excellence Award, left, helped present the 2025 award to his friend and longtime colleague Patrick Garrett, who spent decades serving the Wheeling Park High School band program and as a professor of music education at West Liberty University.
