Gov. Jim Justice this morning said the age limit on COVID-19 vaccinations will be lowered to residents 50 and older.
Teachers and service personnel from 40 to 50 years old and children with health issues also will be emphasized, he said during his pandemic briefing.
The governor a little more than a month ago lowered the age to 65 and older for the shots. Residents 65 and older will remain a priority, said Justice, who encouraged residents to register for the inoculation with the state at vaccinate.wv.com.
“We will still prioritize those 65 and above,” he said.
