Ohio, Marshall Counties Report More COVID-19 Deaths

WHEELING -- A tenth person has died of COVID-19 in Ohio County, and a seventh in Marshall County, local health officials reported Monday.

The Marshall County resident was a 65-year-old man who resided at a long-term care facility. Details on the Ohio County resident were not provided, other than that they had been hospitalized at the time of their death. The last death in Ohio County reported before Monday's announcement was reported on Oct. 30.

The last Marshall County death reported before Monday's announcement was reported Friday.

The Ohio County Health Department reported 18 new cases at the end of the day Monday, a total of 854 cases total. The health department performed 148 tests over the course of the day.

Marshall County reported 21 new positives and eight probable cases. Two of the county's positives have been deemed severe, with those people, a man in his 20s and a woman in her 50s, hospitalized. There are currently 263 active cases in Marshall County, out of a total of 551. Nine people are hospitalized and 342 have been released from isolation.
