Ohio County records 35 new positive COVID-19 tests

Late Thursday, the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department announced 35 new COVID-19 positive cases, bringing the county’s total since late March to 974 cases.

Of those cases, 256 currently are listed as active cases by the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources.

Free community testing continues from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at three sites: the Valley Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Warwood Fire Station and Wheeling Fire Department Station 5, on Wheeling Island.

On Thursday, there were 193 tests performed in Ohio County.

The county on Thursday also moved into the ‘orange’ classification on the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources COVID-19 county alert map.
