WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital Put On Temporary Lockdown

WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital was put on temporary precautionary lockdown for about two hours Wednesday night, according to posts on the hospital's Facebook page. The lockdown was put in place at around 7:30 p.m. "out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our patients, staff, and visitors," according to the post announcing the lockdown. "All patient care services remain fully operational, and our team continues to provide care without interruption." The lockdown was lifted at around 9:30 p.m. The hospital said it would share updates on the situation "when appropriate."
