Robert and Lexie Hanket of Moundsville celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Sept. 16. They were united in marriage by the Rev. Hutton at the Ash Avenue Church of God, Moundsville, on Sept. 16, 1960.
Both are retired from Marshall County Schools. Bob Hanket is president of John Marshall High School Boosters Club and a track official. Lexie Hanket is past president of the Woman’s Club of Wheeling, the Tuesday Arts Club of Moundsville and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is active with the Moundsville High School Alumni Association, Marshall County Federal Credit Union, a bunco club and a card club.
Both continue to attend the Ash Avenue Church of God and are active with the John Marshall Field Renovation Committee.
They are the parents of two sons, Robert (Joy) and Ted (Beth). They have seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
