Ashley Roxanne Mennillo and Matthew William Bartenschlag were united in marriage Friday, July 31, at Glen Dale United Methodist, where her parents and maternal grandparents also were wed. The Rev. John Morrison officiated the evening candlelight ceremony.

Parents of the bride are Jeffrey and Jill Mennillo of Parkersburg. She is the granddaughter of Jon and Carolyn Saffell of Glen Dale and Butch and Julie Mennillo of Wheeling, and the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Marco (Virginia) Mennillo of Wheeling.

Parents of the groom are John and Kim Bartenschlag of Parkersburg. He is the grandson of Wilda Bartenschlag of Lewisville.

Alyssa Mennillo, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Mark Parsons was best man.

Other attendants were Catie Kelly, Sadie Bartenschlag, Lila Bartenschlag, H.K. Carpenter and Marco King.

A reception was held at the Grand Vue Ballroom in Moundsville.

The bride is a 2010 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a 2015 graduate of West Virginia University, where she earned a degree in mathematics. She is self-employed at ReadySetPet LLC in Morgantown.

The groom is a 2005 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a 2009 graduate of West Virginia University, where he earned a degree in computer science. He is a student in the John Hopkins Computer Science master’s program and is employed as a group lead for the Mitre Corp. in Fairmont.

After a wedding trip to Portland, Ore., and San Diego, Calif., the couple resides in Morgantown.
