50th Wedding Anniversary

On September 1, 1973 George Bell and Janice Yandora were united in holy matrimony. This year they celebrate their 50th anniversary. They are the proud parents of two sons, Scott (Natalie) and Matthew (Katie). They have been blessed with three grandsons: Eli, Colin and Alex. George is a retired administrator, teacher and coach. Janice is a retired insurance agent and fiscal officer. Formerly of Yorkville, Ohio, they now make their home in The Villages, Florida. A family celebration will be held in November.

60th Wedding Anniversary

Chuck and Linda Schleicher of Martins Ferry celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, Aug. 22. They were united in marriage at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Wheeling. Chuck is the son of the late Fred and Sarah (Beech) Schleicher of Valley Grove. Chuck is retired from Carpenters Local 3. Linda is the daughter of the late Harold “Dutch” and Martha Becker of Wheeling. They have one son, Chuck Jr., and his wife, Beth Schleicher. They have two grandchildren: Hannah (James) Green of Senecaville, Ohio, and Von Schleicher of Martins Ferry.

Hintons Celebrate 73 Years

Don and Nancy Hinton of Bethlehem celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 1. They were united in marriage on July 1, 1950 at the former Bethlehem Chapel by the late Rev. Carroll Thorn. Nancy Hinton is the daughter of the late Wilbur and Alice Pethtel Grant. Don Hinton is the son of the late Thomas and Edna Bennett Hinton. The couple owned and operated Central Window Cleaning Co. until 2013. The company was founded by her parents in 1945. They are the parents of three children. Lou and Shirley Zimmerman of Calabash, N.C., formerly of Wheeling, celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 1. They were married July 1, 1972 at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church in Wheeling by the Rev. G. Kenneth Gates. Shirley is the daughter of the late Donald C. and Florence Bixler Jefferys. Lou is the son of the late Chester C. and Katherine Klieves Zimmerman. Both Lou and Shirley are graduates of Wheeling High School.
