MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) -- Kysre Gondrezick matched career highs with 24 points and eight assists in helping No. 19 West Virginia beat Kansas State 74-63 in a Big 12 opener on Sunday.

Gondrezick was 9-of-14 shooting, making half of her eight 3-point attempts. Tynice Martin added 18 points and Madisen Smith, with three makes from the arc, scoring 15.

Both teams had nearly identical overall shooting percentages but the Mountaineers were 10 of 28 from the arc, despite Martin's 2-of-10 showing, to the Wildcats' 1-of-15 effort.

Peyton Williams, who has been averaging a double-double, had another with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Wildcats (6-6) while Ayoka Lee, also averaging double figures in points and rebounds, just missed another double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. Angela Harris led the Wildcats with 16 points and Jasauen Beard had 13.

West Virginia (11-1) had the lead for good midway through the first quarter and led 37-22 at halftime behind 14 points from Martin.

The lead remained in double figures throughout the second half, reaching a high of 18.

NO. 14 MICHIGAN STATE 87

NO. 12 MICHIGAN 69

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) -- Cassius Winston scored a career-high 32 points and Xavier Tillman fell one point short of his career high with 20, leading No. 14 Michigan State to a victory over No. 12 Michigan.

The Spartans (12-3, 4-0 Big Ten) were ahead the entire game, leading by as many as 13 points in the first half and earning a bigger cushion in the second, to beat their rivals for a fourth consecutive time.

Michigan State has won seven straight and is the only Big Ten team without a conference loss at this point in the season.

The Wolverines (10-4, 1-2) have lost four of their last seven games after starting 7-0 and going from unranked to No. 4 under first-year coach Juwan Howard.

Michigan's Jon Teske fouled out after scoring four of his 15 points in the second half.

NO. 20 DAYTON 80

SAINT JOSEPH'S 67

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Trey Landers and Ryan Mikesell each scored 18 points as No. 20 Dayton fought off some sluggishness and pulled away from Saint Joseph's.

Ibit Watson and Obi Toppin added 15 points apiece and Jalen Crutcher scored 10 for the Flyers.

The Flyers (11-3, 2-0 Atlantic 10) ended a nine-game losing streak at Hawk Hill dating back to a 66-62 win on Jan. 29, 2000. But Saint Joseph's (3-11, 0-2), which has lost 10 of 11 and was coming off an 84-52 loss at Richmond on Thursday night, managed to keep it close for much of the afternoon.

Dayton struggled from the floor, never getting into the offensive flow it showed on Thursday night during an 84-58 win over La Salle. That allowed Saint Joseph's to hang around in the first half despite shooting 11 of 27.
