NEW MANCHESTER -- Things won't change much for the Oak Glen boys' basketball team this year.
Run, defense, jumpers, movement and 3-pointers.
"We are looking forward to an exciting year," coach Jerry Everly said. "Our players put in a successful summer and fall getting ready for the season and hopefully it will pay off."
Returning are several players who saw varsity action last year in Jeff Rice, Chris Kokoski, Marques McHaffie, Shane Theiss, Logan Taylor and Noah Feicht.
Oak Glen lost two seniors to graduation.
"That experience should help us throughout the season," Everly said. "We also have some players who played a key role on our jayvee team that we will be counting on."
They are Marcus Poling, Ethan Travis, Alex Staub, Jarrett Gittings and Wyatt Wiley.
The Golden Bears finished 7-16, including a tough stretch when they didn't win a game in January.
"I like the quickness on this year's team and we plan on using it to our advantage," Everly said. "The players have bought in to what we are trying to accomplish and that has helped bring the younger guys aboard."
