Gloomy, chilly Thursday morning weather wasn't about to deter the Leadership Wheeling Class of 2026 from completing its class project, a clean-up day around downtown Wheeling. Members donned gloves and wielded grabbers to pick up cigarette butts, paper and other detritus in the neighborhood, dropping them in cardboard bins. The 24 participants of the 2026 Leadership Wheeling program graduated on Thursday, May 7, during a luncheon held at Waterfront Hall. Each year, the graduating class completes a class project intended to make a positive impact on the Leadership Wheeling program or the community. The service event was held in partnership with The City of Wheeling, Volunteer Wheeling and the Leadership Wheeling Alumni Association.
