DR. ROBERT INGRAM JR.

Dr. Robert Howard "Bob" Ingram Jr., 83, of Wheeling, WV, passed away suddenly at his home on September 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and craftsmanship.

He was born January 25, 1942 in Wheeling, a son of the late Robert and Ruth Helen (Conkel) Ingram, Sr.. Bob was a Methodist by faith. Following his graduation from Wheeling High School, Bob began his journey to a higher education; he graduated from West Liberty University with his Bachelor Degree before moving on to West Virginia University graduating with a Masters Degree and then achieving his Doctorate in Education at the University of Alabama. Upon moving back to the Ohio Valley Bob worked diligently in education for over 30 years, holding multiple positions, from professor, to principal and later retiring as the Superintendent of Schools. He took great pride in his work and helped to create a learning curriculum for those who are undereducated.

Beyond his work, Bob found joy in working with his hands, whether it be woodworking or flipping houses, he always brought beauty and functionality to every project. He was an esteemed member and past president of the Landlord Organization of Wheeling, he was well-respected among his peers for his integrity and professionalism.

Bob is survived by his two sons, Robert (Lisa) Ingram, III and Scott (Sally) Ingram; his brother, Rich Ingram; Holly (Kris) Otto, who was like a daughter to him; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Beanie.

Bob will be remembered for his generous spirit, his unwavering work ethic, and his ability to bring out the best in both people and places. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him.
