Encountering Kindness on Trails

My daughter and I planned a biking trip from Coraopolis, Pa., to Weirton through the Montour and Panhandle trails.

The ride was fabulous -- we passed by streams, small towns and beautiful nature. When we pulled into Weirton, it was already getting dark. While trying to figure out how we would bike safely from the trailhead to our hotel, we met a human angel. Sheila, a lovely life-long resident of Weirton and schoolteacher, who saved us by getting us a ride from the trail up to our lodging.

Her neighbor, Dave, was our chariot of safety, transporting us. It was a lively ride, filled with stories of his years-long dedication to the local trails. If it wasn't for Dave and Sheila, we really don't know what we would have done. This bike ride was so great, albeit it falls short of recommending it to our friends because of the lack of trail system to lodging.

Despite lacking a safe route, we encountered some of the nicest, most genuine people that we're sure Weirton has to offer. Thank you, Sheila, thank you, Dave.
