It's over, at least for some. For others, it's another six months of rubber chicken dinners, hand-shaking, mud-slinging and name-calling.
Tuesday's primary election in West Virginia was anything but calm, cool and collected. Some races were predictable while others gave us a few surprises. By now, you have read or heard all the vote results and know who won or lost.
I applaud everyone who took the time to vote. If you didn't, well you can redeem yourself in November. If you don't cast a ballot, you have no right to complain about the results.

You wasted your time, too, stuffing our U.S. postal mailbox with all those flyers. I should have attached a trash can directly to my mailbox to save time in walking them to my garbage can and throwing them out. I was told that most of the claims on some of those mailers were ridiculous and some were even vicious. I wouldn't know because I didn't bother to even look at them.
The dust-up with those anonymous mailings concerning Wheeling City Council mayoral and council candidates was next to evil.

I'm sure there will be much more to come in the way of debates, stories and flyers in the months leading up to the November showdown. It is going to be interesting. The presidential election alone will be historic in nature as there is so much discord already in place.
Your assignment, if you choose to accept it, is to be good citizens and learn all you can about the candidates yet to be elected and then vote. Our future is in our own hands.
