Works on display at Artworks Around Town in April include those by Bellaire High School students, Jonathan Welsh and James Luke (pictured).

WHEELING -- Escape the April showers with a festive Gallery Hop from 5:30-8 p.m. today, Friday, April 5, at Artworks Around Town.

Featured artists are James Luke, Jonathan Walsh and art students from Bellaire High School.

Luke is an astrophotographer whose stunning metal prints line the walls of both galleries.

Walsh's ceramic pieces are notable for their uniqueness and surprising forms. The art students at Bellaire High School are presenting their best efforts with rave reviews from visitors to the gallery.

These three exhibits are well worth a trip to Artworks Around Town in April. In addition to featured exhibits, there are over 20 artists represented on the walls of the Gallery every day. Original paintings, fine art photography, prints, cards, soaps and lotions, fiber art, crocheted shawls, felted pieces and jewelry are all for sale.

Artworks Around Town is a nonprofit fine art gallery and educational center dedicated to serving the people of the community. Located in Wheeling's Historic Centre Market, the Gallery is open six days a week, Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There are ongoing workshops offered to the public.
