FAIRVIEW -- The Pennyroyal Opera House will host a bluegrass show today, Friday, Feb. 23, featuring Cabin Fever String Band.

Since 1986, Cabin Fever String Band, based in Wheeling, has been entertaining folks with their unique blend of bluegrass, gospel and old-timey music. They're not beyond throwing in an interpretation from the folk and rock catalog. The lineup has remained pretty steady with an addition here and there over the years. Be prepared to be entertained and perhaps, participate in some fancy footwork provided by fiddle player, Scott Black. Other members are Richard Pollack, dobro and fiddle; Matt Hines, banjo; Jim Simpson, mandolin; Kim West, guitar; and Dick Moore, upright bass.

The opening band for the evening will be Chestnut Ridge.

The kitchen and doors open at 5 p.m., and the show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 per person, and guests ages 12 and under are admitted for free.

The Pennyroyal Opera House consists of a 100-percent volunteer staff and is located in Fairview, Ohio, just off Interstate 70 at exit 198.
