I spoke with Bob Koch on Thursday and he informed me several local individuals had contacted him with information about Bob O'Brien. Koch was looking for contact information for O'Brien as the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference are looking to honor the former basketball standout at Union High School. Koch said O'Brien is currently living in Florida.

The 2024 West Virginia Legislative Session began in January and runs for 60 days. This past week two Marshall County Commission employees made the trip and were also able to come to Hurricane for a visit with me between events: Commissioner Mike Ferro and County Administrator Betsy Frohnapfel. Ferro previously spent a few years as a member of the House of Delegates.

Another Marshall County resident was also in Charleston for events this week, that being Josh Jefferson of the Regional Economic Development Partnership. It just so happened that RED that evening was hosting an event for commissioners from six counties.

Uniglobe Ohio Valley Travel will host a motor coach information night at 6 p.m. Feb. 7. The event will be held at their location at 1306 Market St. in Wheeling.

The Marshall County/WVU Extension Service will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Extension Office on Eastern Fourth Street.
