FAIRVIEW -- The Pennyroyal Opera House will host a bluegrass show today, Friday, Jan. 5, featuring Shortline Junction.
Shortline Junction is a bluegrass band based out of Wetzel County. The band is comprised of Harry Midcap on the five-string banjo, Ben Tharp on the flattop guitar and singing the lead vocals, George Daniels on the upright bass and tenor vocals, and Dustin Terpinning playing the mandolin.
The band enjoys playing a more traditional style bluegrass and at times will throw in a few classic country and rock'n'roll songs.
Although the band has only been together a short while, they have played shows in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland. The band has also an inducted member of the Monroe Theatre Family.
The opening band for the night will be the Perry Morgan Pickers.
The kitchen and venue doors open at 5 p.m., and the show will begin at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $20 per person, and guests 12 and under will be admitted for free.
The Pennyroyal Opera House consists of a 100-percent volunteer staff and is located in Fairview, Ohio, just off Interstate 70 at exit 198.
