Regarding the present financial problems at West Virginia University, the answer would seem to be adequate funding from the State Legislature.
There always seems to be a budget surplus. But, sadly, the Republican super-majority is engaged in what Phil Kabler of the Charleston Gazette-Mail calls "the systemic defunding of higher education." Clearly, this is wrong.
What can be done? Is the answer at the ballot box?
