A Man With No Apparent Shame

Editor, News-Register:

During the recent Conservative Political Action Conference, former President Donald J. Trump gave the keynote speech with his typical ego-driven discourse in which he vowed to "get revenge on behalf of those Americans" whom he stated have been wronged and betrayed by liberal and Republican elites and also provocatively claiming, "I am your warrior. I am your justice."

Quite disturbing rhetoric, especially from the individual who served as the chief architect of the violent insurrection of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in which he promised to physically participate but did not, reminiscent to his being exempted from serving in the US military during the Vietnam War.

Recall also that although Mr. Trump currently portrays himself as a monumental conservative icon, that for the vast majority of his adult life, he was a devoted Democrat and provided vast sums of money and supported Democratic candidates, in particular President Bill and Hillary Clinton, whom he now claims to despise.

In addition, Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who recently was inexplicably provided with over 40,000 hours of footage from the violent Trump-inspired assault on our nation's capitol by House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. Mr. Carlson should feel thoroughly shamed and should be severely chastised for airing the footage.

Also recall that Mr. Trump has already stated on numerous occasions that if he is somehow reelected as our nation's president in the 2024 election, that he plans to pardon and release all the convicted felonious anarchists who violently participated in the insurrection as they did so in support of his efforts to overthrow a perfectly legitimate and fair election.
