Thanks to the Ohio County Commission for coordinating the Gas Royalty Meeting with the WV State Tax Dept held Feb. 16th, giving us a voice and allowing gas/oil lease holders to vent frustration regarding the outrageously flawed and unfair tax formula.
How taxing us on estimations and projections totally disregards true evaluations.
No consideration is given to low production, low product cost and capped wells.
How can this practice be stopped?
We're aware legislators are not going to intervene. As a matter of fact, they are responsible for introducing these measures.
Wait! I have an idea. I am asking the Ohio County Commission to petition the State Supreme Court to review and possibly eliminate this injustice. Attending members at the meeting have no issue paying their taxes. However, taxing on projected money rather than actual money received is extremely unfair.
