CROWN Act Not Right for City

1 min read

Editor, News-Register:

City Council member Dave Palmer stated that passing the CROWN Act will not impact our city.

I beg to differ with him! We have lawyers on our city council. They of all people know the true impact of this type of city regulation.

On this Tuesday, if they pass this, all employers and organizations in the city of Wheeling will be vulnerable to endless lawsuits!

If someone that is not hired, loses their job, is restricted from any variety of things and has a different type of head dress or hair style, then all that they have to do is file a lawsuit.

This of course makes the law firms richer and companies and organizations poorer.

This type of regulation is a deterrent for attracting businesses and organizations to expand our city's prosperity, which is in sharp contrast to what our city leaders say that they want for our city.

I implore my friends and neighbors to call and/or show up at 5 p.m. Tuesday to the City Council meeting and sign up "For those Wishing to be Heard" under the Crown Act.
