Linsly Sweeps Buckeye Local

RAYLAND -- The Linsly Cadets picked up another win Thursday, sweeping Buckeye Local by scores of 25-23, 25-23 and 25-19.

Avery Sadlowski led the victorious Cadets with 17 kills. Ava Gainer passed out 38 assists with five kills of her own and four aces. Rumer Beazel also had five kills while London Podobnik recorded 13 assists. Elle Ranney was credited with three blocks.

For Buckeye, Pam Kandrach had six kills, 17 digs and four aces. Morgan Richardson recorded 10 assists, three kills, two blocks and eight digs.

JM def. Buckhannon-Upshur

MOUNDSVILLE -- The Monarchs defeatded visiting Buckhannon-Upshur in four sets Thursday, 25-22, 25-19, 21-25 and 25-16.

Danica Deem led the Monarchs with 25 assists and 15 kills. Nia Miller had four blocks and three aces while Kayli Derrow racked up 16 kills. Lilie Babiczuk finished with 14 kills.

Magnolia sweeps River

HANNIBAL -- The Blue Eagles picked up a road sweep Thursday at River by scores of 25-12, 25-6 and 25-14.

Jenna Blain had 14 kills for Magnolia whle tammate Delaine Potteweit had a dozen.

Julia Lilze recorded 10 digs with three aces while Maddi Yoho was right behind her with nine digs and three aces. Sydney Knight dished out 38 assists.

Tyler falls at Liberty

CLARKSBURG -- Liberty defeated visiting Tyler Consolidated in four sets Thursday, 25-18, 21-25, 25-11 and 25-21.

Braeden Wall racked up 15 kills, 15 digs, two blocks and an ace for Tyler. Bella Garuccio had 11 blocks with two kills and Katie Grimm recorded eight kills and two digs.

Juliana Lattea was credited with 10 blocks, two kills and an assist. Tanley McEldowney led the team with 20 digs while Caitlyn Northcraft had 25 assists with seven digs.

Monroe Central defeats Barnesville

WOODSFIELD -- Monroe Central swept past visiting Barnesville 3-0 Thursday night in prep volleyball action. The scores were 25-16, 25-21 and 25-18.

The Seminoles (8-3) were paced by Abby Thompson with 13 points, six kills and five blocks. Kynzi Bishop chipped in half-a-dozen kills, seven points and a pair of aces. Jacey English finished with six kills, nine digs and two blocks. Maclarin Craft had seven points, four acesand 11 digs. Kyra English charted 11 assists, one more than Olivia Valkovic.

Leading the Shamrocks were Ava McFarland with five points, 28 assists and 9 digs. Kynlie Cline added 24 digs and seven points. She broke the career school record for digs in the process. Halle Markovich charted 14 kills, seven digs and two points, while Ellie Thompson had four points, nine kills and a like number of digs.

UL defeats St. Clairsville

MORRISTOWN -- The state-ranked Jets continued their winning ways with a sweep of the visiting Red Devils. The scores were 25-12, 25-14 and 25-16.

Union Local (16-0) has now won 45 straight sets to open the season.

Torre Kildow recorded 22 kills for the third consecutive match while also charting a dozen digs and a pair of aces. Kelly Gress added 31 sets, four digs and a pair of kills. Emily Kellaway had 11 digs, one more than Julie Broussard. Olivia Wortman finished with five kills, five digs and three aces. Emma Yager recorded seven kills and four digs. Alli Briggs donated six digs and three kills, while Ella Pietranton added three kills and a pair of digs. Lydia Lash had four sets.

St. John falls to Trinity

BELLAIRE -- The visiting Warriors prevailed in four sets by scors of 25-11, 23-25, 25-10 and 25-16.

The Irish were led by Gianna Metz with four aces, 18 points, and 21 digs. Lauren Moran had 27 sets and a trio of points, while Addison Kovach finished with four sets, nine points and 11 digs. Delaney Kemp added two sets, nine points and 11 digs. Hannah Gradyhad 21 sets, eight points and nine digs.

Harrison Central loses at Edison

RICHMOND -- The Huskies were swept by the host Wildcats by scores of 25-19, 25-14 and 25-10.

Statistical leaders for Harrison Central included AnnMarie Corder with six kills; Olivia Tonkovich with 15 assists and 10 points; and Danica Rensi with 13 digs.

Beallsville tops Bridgeport

BEALLSVILLE -- The Blue Devils completed their regular-season sweep of the visiting Bulldogs by scores of 25-6, 25-10 and 25-18.

Leah Trigg led Beallsville with 11 digs and two aces. Kinley Hughes had 10 assists, six aces, five kills and a trio of digs. Brooke Wells added four kills and two digs. Kaylee Hagan charted six kills, three digs and a pair of aces. Chloe McCulley chipped in eight assists, four digs and two kills.

JM tops Big Red

STEUBENVILLE -- John Marshall bested Big Red at the Steubenville Country Club 166-180 on a cold and windy Thursday evening.

JM's Colton Sprowls was the medalist, shooting a round of 37. Teammate Ethan Cook finished second with 41 while JM's Raymond Steed and Steubenville's Buddy Reese and Vasiec Matzorkis all shot 42.

Linsly bests Wheeling Central

WHEELING -- Linsly picked up a 319-327 win over Wheeling Central at Oglebay's Jones Course Wednesday.

Central's Justin Doerr was the medalist with a round of 71 while Linsly teammates Matteo Guzzo (75) and Adam Gill (79) finished in second and third.
