I find it very interesting that the 18-month-long traffic disruption, scheduled for the Elm Grove Stone Bridge, has suddenly changed.
According to the engineer I saw on TV, the completion date for the bridge repairs will be the same and they will begin the job by working beneath the road surface.
I would love to hear the explanation as to why this wasn't their original plan and what was the reason that the bridge was going to be closed for a year longer than actually necessary? Obviously, the public needs to pay more attention to these major road closings.
For so many reasons the construction companies and those contracting with them need to be held up to much more scrutiny.
